What an ideal government would look like
An ideal government HAS NO IDEOLOGY. Ideology segregates and holds us back. The individual's energy should focus on monitoring politicians so that they work with as few mistakes as possible, never on fighting each other over differences of perspective.
An ideal government's sole and absolute objective is to promote the best possible quality of life for the individual, pragmatically, but without unfeasible promises. The State must focus its efforts on freeing and strengthening individuals, not imprisoning them as it does today. A citizen is to the State what a child is to parents: the better prepared, the better supported and the more secure, the more independent. Any decision that gets in the citizen's way should be questioned.
An ideal government focuses its Resources on 4 pillars:
1- Education: a real model for improving education nationwide, à la South Korea. This is the daily discussion in the newspapers. A project on the scale of the country, lasting 20 years, to educate an entire generation. Education focused on entrepreneurship, technology, the future. No ideology. A focus on public primary and secondary schools, where our needs are greatest.
2- Security. Zero Tolerance for criminality and for police and judicial corruption. Very severe penalties for corruption in government positions (police officers, judges, politicians, civil servants, etc.).
3- Infrastructure. Develop the country. Finally grow. Metros. Trains. Highways. Smart cities. Encourage development in other cities outside the southeastern axis.
4- Health. Resources for the SUS to expand basic, free care nationwide as far as possible.
An ideal government has a Spartan Culture: the greatest possible efficiency with the fewest possible resources.
An ideal government takes very good care of Cash Flow so as not to raise taxes. Public money IS NOT: for ministers, judges and politicians to live like kings with questionable events and luxurious trips; it is not for parties or elections. Public money is mostly for the 4 pillars. Taxes should be reduced to the minimum necessary to fund the 4 pillars, not to bankroll politicians' luxurious orgy. This culture of raising taxes to pay for luxury should be seen as criminal.
An ideal government must be simple and efficient in its composition, with as few members of congress as possible. The fewer human beings, the better. A human being with power is always dangerous. Getting as close as possible to the way a Startup works is the constant direction for cutting bureaucracy and improving efficiency, while practising that mindset of perpetual bootstrapping when it comes to political privileges: “want to travel and stay in a 5-star hotel? Pay out of your own pocket.”
An ideal government must have EXCELLENT PUBLIC MANAGERS. A rhetorical, poorly educated, corrupt and ill-intentioned politician should be seen as criminal and disgraceful.
In the end, an ideal government is much simpler than it seems. The art of making things complicated, such as having an enormous and completely subjective Constitution that in practice is worth nothing because it has frequently been amended under any pretext, serves to divert citizens' attention from controlling the State.
That is right: in an ideal government, the citizen controls the State, not the other way round.
